Supporting young people and their creativity is one of the objectives that the SIAE has always pursued together with the major Academies and Institutions that build tomorrow´s artists, promoting and supporting Events interested in Italian creativity.
Since 2009 the SIAE has been alongside of the Spoleto Festival of 2Worlds, to support young people and culture. Over the years, in fact, numerous SIAE Creativity Prizes have been delivered to emerging artists - in 2010 to Vincenzo Manna, Luciano Ceglia and Jacopo Godani, in 2011 to Raphael Gualazzi, Marco Calvani, Daniele Saul Ardillo and Andrea Castorina, in 2012 to Alessandro Mannarino, Claudio Cangialosi, Carlo Bondanini and Giovanni Franci, in 2013 to Dente, Marco Pelle, Adelaide Stazi and Gabriele Di Luca – along with prizes for Lifetime Achievement to figures from the world of culture and entertainment like Dante Ferretti, Alessandra Ferri, Ritz Ortolani, Franca Valeri.
Starting this year, the SIAE, in agreement with the Festival management, has decided to give more space to the single Arts and to the Authors, promoting a single category each year: the 2014 edition is dedicated to Music, the one in 2015 to Theater and the one in 2016 to Dance .
During the 57th edition of the Festival, the SIAE will bring 4 young talents to Spoleto who will compete for the SIAE Creativity Prize consisting of 5,000 Euros. The future Music Authors will be selected thanks to an agreement with some of the most prestigious Italian musical institutions that, within their own reality, will choose the most promising candidates.
In addition to the prize, in view of the novelty and support to young people, the 4 selected talents will be offered the opportunity to perform in public in the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto on Saturday, June 28th, the day when the winner for the 2014 edition will be announced.
The SIAE, founded in 1882 - on the initiative of illustrious figures of Italian culture such as Giuseppe Verdi, Arrigo Boito, Edmondo De Amicis, Giosuè Carducci, who decided to unite for the reciprocal safeguarding of their rights - promotes the creation and circulation of ingenious works. Starting right from ancient philosophy, the SIAE has continued and continues to work in support of culture by providing a number of scholarships to offer valuable support to those taking their first steps in the world of Authors.
The SIAE closely follows the "pathway" of its Members’ works, from their use to the allocation of rights.
Present throughout the national territory, the SIAE is capable of verifying when and where a work is performed, reproduced, distributed or represented, thereby protecting a right that is an essential component for the life of culture and its own enterprise.
