The agreed protocol which will bind two of the most important cultural events scheduled on the national and international scene in the coming years, the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto and the Mittelfest Cividale in Friuli, was officially signed yesterday evening in Rome.
Giorgio Ferrara, Artistic Director of the Festival of Spoleto and Antonio Devetag, General Director of the Mittelfest, have decided stabilize a continuous collaboration that had already led to important co-productions. According to the agreed protocol, the Festival of Two Worlds and Mittelfest undertake, within the limits of their budgets, to annually co-produce at least one show (drama, music, dance or multimedia) and that Mittelfest will host one or more shows from the Festival of Spoleto program. The Festival of Two Worlds, also acknowledges the Cividale Festival′s function as observer and privileged interlocutor for the cultural relations with Central and Eastern European countries, declaring its interest in hosting performances of particular international prestige, produced in the Mittle European sphere.
The two Festivals had already started a fruitful collaboration in recent years which had resulted in some co-productions - as in 2011 with the remarkable success of Rafael Spregelburd ′s "Modesty" directed by Luca Ronconi - and with the mutual hospitality of events produced in Cividale of Friuli and in Spoleto.
